Outrigger Industrial to Redevelop Existing Industrial Property and Deliver Modern, Class A Building in Oakland

The investment will upgrade the structural integrity and functionality of the
building, aligning it with modern standards and current market needs

Oakland, CA – May 23, 2025 Outrigger Industrial, in partnership with Metlife Investment Management, has announced plans to redevelop the property at 727 Kennedy Street in Oakland, CA. The investment will upgrade the functionality of the
vacant building, aligning it with modern standards and current market needs.
Construction at Kennedy Logistics Center is slated to begin in Q3 of 2025 with a
completion target of Q2 2026.

The initial phase of construction at Kennedy Logistics Center involves a reduction of the existing building footprint by 57,000 square feet to allow for loading dock reconfiguration (30 new dock high positions along with a 130’ truck court) designed to improve operational efficiency and additional auto parking. The upgraded building, which will comprise 177,000 square feet, will feature numerous structural re-enforcements and visual enhancements. These include the installation of new structural columns (60’x64’) and roof structure at a 32-foot clear height, updating existing building systems to meet current code compliance (e.g., fire, seismic, and life/safety), creating dedicated office space as well as modern improvements to the building architecture and hardscaping.  The property is conveniently located immediately adjacent to the I-880 between the Port of Oakland and OAK Airport.
